High School FT & PT Faculty

Tamarack Waldorf School is delighted to announce that it will expand into the 10th grade in the autumn of 2015, adding one high school grade each subsequent year.

The Tamarack Waldorf High School Personnel Committee is actively seeking full- and part-time faculty to join this exciting journey with us. Resumes are currently being reviewed for the following openings:

  • Faculty specializing in Humanities (especially History, English Literature and Grammar) and/or Sciences (especially Biology, Earth Science and/or Chemistry) and/or the Fine or Practical Arts (including metalwork, handwork, woodwork, clay and stone, painting and drawing), to carry 9th and 10th grade morning seminars (main lessons), yearlong track classes and, potentially, some administrative responsibilities
  • Guest faculty for morning seminars (humanities, sciences or math)
  • Part-time and guest faculty in eurythmy, spatial dynamics/games/gym, foreign language, choral and instrumental music, educational support and manual and visual arts (including metalwork, handwork, woodwork, clay and stone, painting and drawing).

All positions have the opportunity to grow as the High School expands.

The ideal applicant is an enthusiastic pioneer and collaborative colleague with mastery and expertise in teaching his or her area(s) of emphasis. Highly desirable qualities include a command of the full Waldorf High School curriculum, a firm footing in today’s world, and a love and appreciation for, and a relationship to, adolescents (and adolescence). Faculty will be expected, in collaboration with the full colleagueship, to provide and grow a vigorously academic, creatively artistic, socially relevant, urban-based Waldorf High School Education.

A minimum of a bachelors’ degree is required. A Waldorf teaching certificate, as well as previous Waldorf High School teaching experience, is highly valued. Partial completion of Waldorf teacher training will be considered and plan for completion must be agreed upon at time of hire.
